California Vacation part 1

Today I’m sharing some pictures from my recent California vacation with my husband and my family. To keep things from getting too long I’ve decided to break it up into two parts. I should also have a recipe up this week too so stay tuned for that!

~~~
Our trip started at 5:30 AM Sunday morning and after a quick stop at bux we started our long drive from Utah to California. The traffic was SO bad that it took us 12 hours to get there. It was rough and I definitely got pretty grumpy at certain points (sorry fam). We didn’t do much the first night besides check into our hotel + eat dinner + take an uber out to get a couple of drinks + quickly pass out into bed.
We woke up early the next day and made our way to Newport beach. Breakfast was eaten at the Lighthouse Bayview Cafe, where I went all out and ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese croissant + a cappuccino.
And then we made our way to the beach!
I just have to quickly add that I am extremely grateful for my husband Jordan. I get anxious and overwhelmed pretty easily but he remains patient and calm with me no matter how crazy I get. I am constantly second guessing myself and the decisions I’ve made. But being married to this guy has always felt like where I’m supposed to be. ♥
When we were done with the beach we stopped for coffee at Kean Coffee, which I honestly wasn’t all that impressed by. Jordan got their nitro cold brew (which I’m totally obsessed with right now) but it was NASTY. Way too watery and bitter. My iced latte also had a weird aftertaste I’m not used to. Oh well..
Later that night we hopped on a shuttle and walked around Downtown Disney where I took zero pictures.. Whoops. Dinner was eaten at Uva Bar and Cafe. The food wasn’t OMGamazing but it was still really good. I had a salad that had all kinds of goodies like candied nuts, dates, apples, chicken, and manchego cheese.
After dinner treat was from Han’s Homemade Ice Cream. I got the peach flavor and it was delish. I’m a big fan of soft ice creams and this was definitely that. It was a perfect way to end the night!
That’s all I got for now! Part two will be from our 2 days spent at Disneyland and California Adventure. 🙂
What was the last vacation you went on and what was the best thing you ate there?
  1. Looks like a very fun trip! I’ve been to Disney World but never Disneyland. Wonder what all of the differences are? And ice cream is a must on summer trips for me, too!
    1. Disney world is A LOT bigger. You can pretty much see the whole disneyland park in one day. I’ve never been to disneyworld but my husband says it’s way different. I would love to go to Disney world someday.
